During my graduation project with Sustain Labs Paris, an organisation called Visaka Industries Limited wanted their annual report to be made. Since this was in 2021, they wanted the report to be digital. For this project I worked with the Sustain Labs Paris design team to make icons, infographics and illustrations for the report, along with the publication design for it.

VIL is a company that manufactures products that capitalize an ongoing improvement in lifestyle standards in India and abroad. They lead with innovations in sustainable products like solar panels, recycled yarn, etc. This 200 page report was to be designed with principles of both Visaka and SLP in mind.

Their branding is simple and featured only a couple of colours and fonts. The colour palette was limited to Visaka’s red, black and white. However some of the SLP colours were used in the illustrations in a limited fashion. Typography was limited to one family that the client insisted upon- Montserrat.

The report for 2021 was to be digital, and fit into a desktop screen with both pages. The size considered for desktop was a maximum of 1920 px into which a double A4 spread of width 1190 px and height 842 px at minimum 72 dpi fit into. All pages followed a 12 column grid with 8 rows and gutter of 0.5 cm. Margins were out- 0.5 cm, in- 1.5 cm, top- 1.5 cm and bottom-2 cm. In addition to this, a criss- cross grid inspired by the pattern of solar panels was also used for various elements in the report. This was made by folding an A4 sheet and then digitising it.
